METHOD FOR THE EXPLOITATION OF OIL SHALES IN HEAVY FUEL FRACTION CRACKING

The invention relates to a process for the exploitationof oil shales wherein the two main contituents threreof,organic and inorganic moieties, are transformed intovaluable products, It was found that oil shales whichpossess a high amount of inorganic constituents, as wellas than mineral part resulted from the combustion of oilshales, have a catalytic effect on the cracking of ~heavy fraction of fuel, producing valuable fractions ofhydrocarbon fuel. According to the process, a mixture ofoil shales which possess a low portion of organic moiety,is cracked at a temperature in the range of 350 to 600°Cwith a fraction of heavy fuel having a boiling point ofabove 350°C. From the gases going out from the crackingreactor, a hydrocarbon fuel having a boiling point of upto 350°C is recovered. The residue resulted in said crac-king is useful as a raw material in the chemicalindustry.
