Process for broadening cholesteric reflectionbands of photopolymerizable cholesteric liquid crystals,and optical elements produced by this process. Theinvention relates to a process for broadening thecholesteric reflection bands of photopolymerizablecholesteric liquid crystals, which comprises thefollowing process steps:1) partial polymerization of a layer containingphotopolymerizable cholesteric liquid crystals byexposure to actinic light for a defined brief period ata defined temperature,2) observance of a defined waiting time withoutexposure (dark phase) at a defined temperature,3) fixing of the resultant layer by exposure toactinic light at a defined temperature.
