APPARATUS FOR STAKING TREES AND OTHER NURSERY PLANT STOCK

A platform adapted to be carried by a tractor or otherloading vehicle is provided with a hydraulically poweredspike for drilling a hole in the ground beside atransplanted tree or other plant requiring support. Anoperator on the platform is provided with a supply ofbamboo stakes and inserts one in each hole as the apparatusmoves successively from one plant to the next in a layoutsuch as a tree farm. The apparatus makes it possible toset out many more bamboo stakes per day than withconventional hammering-in of stakes, or pre-drilling ofholes to insert support poles.
