A system and method for monitoring a product inventory utilized in a bloodcomponent collection facility for collection at least one blood component froma donor is disclosed. The blood component collection facility includes a bloodcomponent collection instrument capable of being adapted to the donor whereinan operator facilitates interaction of the donor with the blood componentcollection facility. The system includes a system server having a bloodcomponent collection process. A product inventory database is provided fortracking various different inventory aspects of the blood component collectionprocess. The product inventory represents a quantity of a product beingavailable for use within the blood component collection facility. An interfacebeing operably connected to the system servrt includes a reader for entering ablood component collection facility identifier, i.e., a product identifier. Aweb browser embedded within the interfact cooperates with an inventory webpage for providing access to the inventory database wherein the productinventory can be monitored.
