The present invention discloses a novel polypeptide -human tre oncogene 10.78 and a polynucleotide encoding the same, as well as a method of producing the polypeptide by DNA recombinant technique. The present invention also discloses methods of using the polypeptide in treatment of various disease, such as bone tumor, other tumor, inflammation, immunological disease and so on. The present invention also discloses an antagonist against the polypeptide and the therapeutic use of the same. Also disclosed is the use of such novel polynucleotide encoding human tre oncogene 10.78.
