The system and method of this invention can incorporate additional functionality such as automatic setting registration slips to facilitate the supply of intellectual property. In some embodiments, the method includes generating a microprocessor electronic form to be completed and to receive the completed electronic form. This form can actively encourage the inventor to provide information regarding its identification, empowerment and capacity. The completed form can be converted to a patent application by submitting the information extracted from selected areas of the form at preselected locations in the patent application. The patent application may be filed electronically at the patent office, this classification can trigger automatic programming of various reminders and due dates.
