A hydrogen flame luminosity analyzer for thin-layer chromatograph comprising: a hydrogen burner for making a hydrogen flame; moving means for moving a thin-layer chromatography element and the hydrogen flame at predetermined relative velocities so that substances separated to be analyzed for the thin-layer chromatography may be sequentially burned; means for separating the light, as made from the hydrogen flame, spectroscopically; and means for analyzing the intensities of light separated by the spectroscopic means. A hydrogen flame luminosity analyzing method for a thin-layer chromatograph comprising: the step of burning the substances, as separated to be analyzed by the thin-layer chromatography, sequentially with a hydrogen frame by moving the thin-layer chromatography and the hydrogen flame at predetermined relative velocities; and the step of analyzing the intensities at specific wavelengths of the luminous light from the flame. The analyzer and the analyzing method can perform stable and precise singular analyses of heterogeneous elements.
