A composite oxide for an air electrode and a material of a collector of a solid electrolyte fuel cell which comprises a composite oxide represented by La1-x-yAxLnyMnzO3+δ, wherein A represents Ca and/or Sr, Ln represents at least one selected from among Sm, Gd and Y, 0.3 ≤ x ≤ 0.6, 0 ≤ y ≤ 0.3 and 1.5 ≤ z ≤ 4.5. The composite oxide is suppressed in the shrinkage phenomenon caused by heat cycles of a solid electrolyte fuel cell, is reduced in the fracture or exfoliation thereof, exhibits improved sintering properties, and has improved conductivity.
