A method of treating a patient with or at risk of HCV infection wherein infection by Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) of, and/or replication of HCV in, cells in the Central Nervous System (CNS) of the patient is inhibited. Infection of and/or replication in microglial cells or precursors of microglial cells may be inhibited. This may be useful in reducing or preventing recurrence of disease of in prophylactic treatment.
