MARITIME TELEMEDICINE SYSTEM USING SATELLITE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

Disclosed herein is a maritime telemedicine system using a satellite communication network. The maritime telemedicine system generally includes a maritime medicine system (10) and a shore medicine system (20). The maritime medicine system (10) includes a pat ient information unit (11) in which the medical histories of crews and the symptom data of patients are stored, a diagnosis unit (12) that collects data on the conditions of a patient, and a maritime medical unit (13) that transmits data through a maritime transmission/reception unit (14) and a network of a communication satellite (50). The shore medicine system (20) includes a medical examination unit (21) that receives the data through a shore base station (25) and performs a remote medical examination, a medical information analysis unit (22) that analyzes the symptoms of the patient, a medical examination and treatment information unit (23) that determines the disease and makes out a prescription, and a monitoring unit (24) that continuously monitors the conditions of the patient.
