A method for extremely easily, inexpensively, and efficiently using, recovering, and recycling a soluble metallic catalyst in various liquid-phase reactions. A liquid-phase reaction to be catalyzed by a soluble metallic catalyst is conducted in the presence of both the soluble metallic catalyst and an anion-exchange resin under such conditions that 50% or more of the soluble metallic catalyst is adsorbed on the anion-exchange resin. The anion-exchange resin having the soluble metallic catalyst adsorbed thereon is separated from the liquid reaction mixture to thereby recover the soluble metallic catalyst, which is recycled to a liquid-phase reaction.
