Automatic pipe swaging device with hydraulic transmission

The pipe swaging device (10) is provided with hydraulic transmission (44, 54, 52) for tightening the two jaws of a pipe squeezing gripper, and with valve means (90, 99, 102) for automatically opening shut-off means (104) for causing the pressure in the hydraulic transmission to fall in order to release the jaws when said pressure attains a value which corresponds to the required degree of squeezing of the pipe.
