FOUNDATION WORK ERECTED ON A SOIL WITH INFERIOR STABILITY

The invention relates to foundation work erected on a soil with inferior stability (1). In order to transfer loads to deeper, good bearing soil (2), pillars (3) are provided with tops which rise above the less stable soil (1). A geosynthetic reinforcement (5) is placed on top of the pillars (3) and is provided with a filling (6). In order to enable the geosynthetic reinforcement to be evenly weighted and bear heavier loads, the tops of the pillars (3) are configured as arched caps (4) the cross-sectional area of which exceeds the cross-sectional area of the pillars (3) on all sides. The thickness of these caps continuously decreases from the middle to the edge. A flexible geosynthetic reinforcement (5) is laid across said caps in such a manner that it follows the archings in the area of the caps (4) and the depressions between the caps (4).
