A central blood pressure waveform estimating device comprising a pulse wave detecting unit (60), a transfer function storing unit (26) and a central blood pressure waveform calculating unit (30). The pulse wave detecting unit (60) non-invasively detects a pulse wave at a periphery. The transfer function storing unit (26) stores a transfer function calculated in advance based on a pulse waveform at a periphery detected by the pulse wave detecting unit (60) and a central blood pressure waveform measured invasively. The central blood pressure waveform calculating unit (30) calculates a central blood pressure waveform corresponding to a pulse waveform at a periphery newly detected by the pulse wave detecting unit (60) by using the pulse waveform and a transfer function from the transfer function storing unit (26).
