Method and means for measuring and classification of optical including endoscopic observable skin or mucosal alterations

The system includes a dual-digital color camera system taking 3-d reference images. Its pattern projector, supplements 3-d information gathered. A computer processes and stores image data, especially comparing alteration over time. A second computer classifies the data, optionally aided by stored, patient-relevant data e.g. age, skin type, allergies, dermatoscopic or sonographic results. This yields a first classification of the changes. In case of uncertainty, optionally a further computer attempts classification using further stored and/or relevant data, using a modified algorithm and/or selection from a databank containing comparison data evaluated by experts.
