The invention relates to the field of electricity. The transformer in question overcomes the present disadvantages of variable transformers in relation to the size of the voltage supplied and its accuracy. The accuracy of the voltage supplied by present variable transformers has gaps, usually of the order of 0.5 to 1.5 V (or more), and the voltage supplied is of the order of 120 to 130 per cent of the voltage used. The variable transformer in question delivers an absolutely continuous voltage (with no gaps) of any value. It also has the advantage that the current supplied is steady throughout the supply time and for any change in the value of the voltage supplied. This is achieved by literally absolute control of the magnetic flux. Structurally, it consists of three half-cores of the frame type (core-type), see Figs 1, 2 and 4. Of the said three half-cores, two B and C have a characteristic shape and form a pocket K between them, and the third A can be moved over them by an appropriate mechanism. The variable transformer can also be made with a cylinder-type core, or with shapes similar to a cylinder, see Fig. 3,. The variable transformer can be made as a one-phase or multiple-phase transformer for any power.
