Total reflection prism (46) and projector with the same, wherein the total reflection prism totally reflects beams of lights from an optical system (44) once toward a projection lens (48), thereby minimizing a loss of luminance caused by a second total reflection. The reflection type protector uses a color wheel (4) and a light integrating rod (6) in the illuminating light source (30,32) to sequentially projecting colour images.
