REPORTING AND TRACKING IN A MERGER AND ACQUISITION ENVIRONMENT

A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for reporting and tracking on the progress of a process. A plurality of users are allowed to create a plurality of status reports and workplans each including a plurality of fields. The status reports and workplans are stored in a database. The status reports and workplans are subsequently retrieved from the database by searching for information in the fields thereof. The status reports are compared with predetermined milestones to determine whether the milestones have been accomplished. A summary of the status reports, workplans, and accomplished milestones are outputted on a single interface. As an option, a preview of the item may also be displayed after the creation thereof and prior to the storing thereof.
