Automated version analysis of software components belonging to a software application

When an application is loaded on a computer version information is stored in a list. Testing of version information involves comparison of the application component version values stored in the reference list with actual version values that are determined as being present in computer storage. The result of the comparison is a listing of agreements and disagreements between version values. Independent claims are included for (1) a computer program product (2) a computer program that can be run on a computer to determine differences in actual software versions from those listed.
