PURPOSE: An apparatus for treating coal tar pitch of an ammonia distillation column is provided which recycles coal tar pitch like coke by separating the coal tar pitch that is generated in the process of distillation in the ammonia distillation column refining coke oven gas from a fluid which is discharged together with the coal tar pitch. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for treating coal tar pitch of an ammonia distillation column comprises a separation hopper(10) in which a fluid is discharged into a fluid overflow pipe(13) through a filter mesh of a screen plate, coal tar pitch precipitated in the lower part of the separation hopper is discharged by overflowing a pitch overflow pipe(17) when it reaches to a certain level, and vapor generated inside the separation hopper is discharged to ammonia distillation columns in the negative pressure state; a fluid recovery part(41) for recovering the fluid that is flown in from the fluid overflow pipe into the ammonia distillation columns by pumping the fluid using a recovery pump(8); a pitch storage tank(30) in which the coal tar pitch flown from the pitch overflow pipe is heated by steam, the vapor inside the pitch storage tank is discharged into the ammonia distillation columns, and the coal tar pitch is transferred and discharged into a pitch drain pipe(35) when the coal tar pitch settled inside the pitch storage tank is filled to a level instrument(34); and a pitch collecting part(40) in which the coal tar pitch cut to pieces by cutting blades is contained in a pitch storage tank(71) through a pitch discharge pipe(67) in the cold state, and cooling water recovered to a cooling water vessel(63) is pumped to a spray nozzle after being cooled at a heat exchanger by pumping of a circulation pump(62).
