PURPOSE: A testing method of engine cold is provided to minimize damage of vehicle components by inducing necessary proper result through the minimum test and to find out defects of each component easily, as well as to reduce noise and vibration without consuming fuel, oil and cooling water at all by testing the compressed pressure of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A worker recognizes the position of a top dead point(S1). Herein, an inductive sensor installed at the zero position of a crankshaft is used. Then, key grooves of a driver motor and the crankshaft are aligned to start rotating the crankshaft near about 5-degree part before the top dead point(S2). After the crankshaft is rotated over the top dead point through the driver motor(S3), the crankshaft is rotated reversely again. The crankshaft is rotated to a corresponding angular position over the top dead point(S4). The crankshaft is rotated repeatedly(S5) to pass through the top dead point at least four times. The crankshaft reciprocates within an angular range from -15 to +15 degrees near the top dead point. The crankshaft finishing the primary test near the top dead point is set at a -5-degree position for the following torque test. In the following test, the crankshaft is tested in torque and leakage, In the leakage test, compressed air is used instead of oil. The tested engine is reused for the crankshaft is not rotated excessively.
