PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing a self-tanning agent and one or more specified flavylium salts in a cosmetically acceptable support is provided. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises, in a cosmetically acceptable support, at least one mono- or polycarbonyl self-tanning agent and at least one flavylium salt compound which is unsubstituted in position 3 and substituted with at least one radical chosen from hydroxyl and alkoxy radicals, wherein the flavylium salt compound may be obtained from synthetic material and an extract of a plant selected from Sorghum caudatum, Sorghum bicolor, Gesneria fulgens, Blechnum procerum and Colletotrichum graminicola.
