Method for Image Indexing and Image Retrieval Using the Rosette Scan Pattern for Improvement of Retrieval Efficiency and Retrieval Performance

PURPOSE: A method of indexing and searching an image by using a rosette pattern for improvement in searching efficiency and searching performance is provided, which effectively stores and searches for image information using a rosette pattern even with a smaller number of pixels. CONSTITUTION: A rosette pattern is defined, corresponding to a size of an object image from which information will be extracted(21). The information of the object image is extracted according to the defined rosette pattern(23). The extracted image information is stored in a memory(24). When a user provides an inquiry image for information search, the step of defining the rosette pattern and the step of extracting the image information are repeated with respect to the inquiry image(25,27,). Similarity of the stored information and the extracted information of the inquiry image is calculated to perform searching(28,29).
