PURPOSE: A money service apparatus in an IMT(International Mobile Telecommunications)-2000 network and a method therefor are provided to receive an apartment management expenses and various notices through an SMS(Short Message Service) to pay the apartment management expenses and various notified charges and perform a bank transfer. CONSTITUTION: An MSC(Mobile Switching Center)/toll interface unit(81) performs an interface function with an MSC and a toll switch. An SMSC(Short Message Service Center) interface unit(82) performs an interface when transmitting a short message with banks and government offices. A service process unit(83) provides a money service function with reference to positions and exchange rates of a subscriber and a business agent when the subscriber requests the money service. An exchange rate process unit(84) provides an exchange rate of a country in which the subscriber is currently located when the service process unit(83) provides the money service. A location register interface unit(85) performs an interface with an HLR(Home Location Register) for providing location information and state information to an origination subscriber or a termination subscriber when the service process unit(83) provides the money service. A database(86) stores an identification number of the subscriber or an identification number of the business agent, position information, country information, a current time, and exchange rate information, and provides information when requesting information from the exchange rate process unit(84).
