PURPOSE: A phosphate-transporter gene of Nicotiana tabacum L is provided, thereby improving the use and absorption of phosphate in plants. CONSTITUTION: The phosphate-transporter gene of Nicotiana tabacum L encodes a protein, phosphate-transporter, capable of transporting phosphate into a plant cell. The effects of phosphate-transporter gene of Nicotiana tabacum L is inspected by the steps of: preparing a primer for RT-PCR and amplifying mRNA to prepare cDNA of a potato; radioactive labeling the cDNA of a potato to isolate Ntpt1-1; subcloning Ntpt1-1 into pGEMT-Easy vector; sequencing the nucleotide sequence and amino acid sequence of Ntpt1-1; inserting NtPT1-1 into an expression vector p520 to prepare pYNtPT1-1; transforming yeast NS219 with pYNtPT1-1 and p520; and measuring the absorbency of the transformed NS219.
