A cough inhibitory composition containing iron showing inhibitory effects on cough associated with angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors

PURPOSE: The titled cough-relieving composition containing iron and an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor is provided which prevents side effects of an ACE inhibitor by reduction of the cough reflex and relieves pain of a patient who is afflicted with a cough caused by the administration of the therapeutic dose of the ACE inhibitor. CONSTITUTION: This cough suppressing composition contains 0.01 to 100% by weight of iron, wherein the iron is selected from iron-containing components such as divalent Fe and trivalent Fe and additionally an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor.
