.. METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING PERSONAL DIGITAL ASSITANCE BASED ON MOBILE DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for building up a PDA-based mobile remote learning system is provided so that a user can watch moving pictures and lecture programs through a CDMA network using a PDA, in which a wireless LAN card or a CDMA transmit-receive module is embedded. CONSTITUTION: A PDA-based mobile remote learning system consists of a web-based remote lecture client(9), a remote lecture server system(10), an LOD(Lecture On Demand) server(11), a chatting server(12), a moving picture/lesson schedule/chatting information DB(13), a lecture authoring tool(17), and PDA mobile lecture clients(20-22). The lecture authoring tool(17) writes and edits teaching materials as multimedia data and stores lecture moving picture/voice/data in the moving picture/lesson schedule/chatting information DB(13). The LOD server(11) provides LOD data to the PDA mobile lecture clients(20-22) through a CDMA network in a streaming method. The LOD server(11) can transmit MPEG moving picture/voice data in real time. The chatting server(12) receives strings from the chatting module of a PDA mobile lecture client and provides a chatting function with the chatting module of another PDA mobile lecture client. The chatting module of each PDA mobile lecture client outputs the strings received from the chatting server(12) as they are or after reconfiguring. Also the chatting module of each PDA mobile lecture client provides a question/answer function for the mobile remote education between a lecture and a student.
