Biofilter apparatus for removing malodor gas and manufacturing method of biofiler pellets

PURPOSE: To prevent clogging and minimize pressure loss due to excessive growth of biomass, a coarse biofilter that is packed with black oak chip is installed at the lower part of tower and a composite filter tray is installed at the upper part of the tower. CONSTITUTION: The biofilter apparatus comprises: a housing(19) at the bottom of which an inlet port(13) for receiving odorous gases is formed and at the upper part of which an outlet port(21) for discharging purified gas is formed; two biofilter trays(16,17) which are placed at constant distance from each other; a nonwoven fabric(15) installed at the bottom of the biofilter tray(16); and a spray nozzle(18) interposed between two biofilter trays to spray water to a lower biofilter. In the biofilter trays, the lower biofilter(16) is packed with black oak chip and the upper biofilter(17) is packed with a composite material in which hydrophobic rock wool and earthworm castings are mixed in the weight ratio of 1:2.
