-2000 DBWRR CELL SCHEDULING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF IN IMT-2000 ATM SWITCH

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for scheduling DBWRR(Delay Bound Weighted Round Robin) cells for an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switch in an IMT(International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000 system are provided to decrease a processing overhead by grouping cells inputted in an input buffer of each link by a link according to an ATM scheduling period and managing the grouped cells. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of input buffers(100) store fast ATM cell groups in sequence. A queuing module(200) receives fast ATM cells from a system front block, groups the received fast ATM cells at a uniform interval, and stores the grouped fast ATM cells in a plurality of input buffers(100). An ATM cell scheduling table(300) stores and manages cell scheduling information to a plurality of ATM cell groups stored in a plurality of input buffers(100). An ATM process unit transmits the ATM cell groups stored a plurality of input buffers(100) using cell scheduling information stored in the ATM cell scheduling table(300) and a previously set weight value. A multiplexer(500) receives a plurality of ATM cells from a plurality of input buffers(100) and outputs the received ATM cells as a single output signal. An output buffer(600) receives the ATM cell signal from the multiplexer(500) and temporarily stores the received ATM cell during an output standby time.
