PURPOSE: A head for mounting a part and a gantry part mounting apparatus are provided to reduce the number of operation and time for absorbing and mounting a part of the head, and simplify the gantry part mounting apparatus by using such a head. CONSTITUTION: A head(31) for mounting a part comprises a head body(32), and four absorbing nozzles(34) inclined outward by 45from a vertical line parallel to a rotating shaft(33). The head body(32) is of a disk. An angle between a virtual line vertical to the plane of the head body(32) and the length direction axis of the absorbing nozzles(34) is 45. The virtual line vertical to the plane of the head body(32) is parallel to the rotating shaft(33). The rotating shaft(33) is arranged at 45with respect to the plane on which the head(31) carries out X-Y planar movement. Each of the absorbing nozzles(34) can be in a horizontal or a vertical state depending on the rotating of the rotating shaft(33).
