METHOD FOR PREVENTING THE ILLEGAL AUDITION OF CABLE TELEVISION

PURPOSE: A method for preventing wiretapping and viewing of a cable television is provided to allow a manager of a cable television broadcasting station to prevent the generation of communication busy without managing all converters, and to manage IDs(Identifications) and subscribers of converters suspended due to the wiretapping and viewing with data. CONSTITUTION: If a converter ID is transmitted to a CCU(Communication Control Unit), the CCU stores the converter ID in an SMS(Standard Modular System)(S100). The CCU allocates a designation time for informing the operation of the converter and turns the time to data for transmission to the converter(S110). If data are normally received from the CCU, the converter stores the designation time in a memory(S120,130). If data are not normally received from the CCU, the converter suspends all operations. If the designation time is fully stored in the memory, the converter compares a current time with the designation time(S140). If identical with each other, data including a message informing the operation at the designation time and a converter ID are transmitted to the CCU by a protocol(S150,S160). If the data are received from the converter, the CCU detects the converter ID from the received data(S170), and compares the detected converter ID with plural converter IDs pre-stored in the SMS to confirm whether the detected converter ID is valid(S180,S190). If the converter ID is not valid, the CCU transmits an operation suspending command to the converter(S200) to suspend the operation of the converter(S210). And the CCU lists the converter ID of the suspended converter in the SMS for storing(S220).
