PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting data to a terminal by a server in a wireless data communication is provided to quickly transmit mass data to a client in the server by transmitting a message for connecting to the client and transmitting data using a wireless network channel in the server when connecting to the client. CONSTITUTION: A client analyzes a short message received from a server(S402). If the analyzed result is the connection request of the server, the client requests the connection of the server and a TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)(S403). The server admits the connection request of the client(S404). If the connection is successfully performed, the server transmits data to a terminal of the client(S405). If the data transmission to the client is completed, the server transmits a message for informing that the transmission is ended to the terminal(S406,S407). If the completion message is received, the client disconnects the connection with the server(S408,S409).
