Method of producing an antibody and an antigen for dental caries prevention from Streptococcus mutans

PURPOSE: Provided are a separation method of fimbrial antigen enriched special extract of surface proteins from cultured Streptococcus mutans and a manufacturing method of antibody for the prevention of dental caries by using the same. CONSTITUTION: The separation method of fimbrial antigen enriched special extract of surface proteins from cultured Streptococcus mutans(52-80KD) comprises the steps of: culturing Streptococcus mutans strain(KCTC 3065) then centrifuging the culture to separate cells; washing the cells with buffer then freezing and thawing them; dissolving and diluting the thawed cells then pulverizing them; centrifuging the pulverized solution to remove cells and their fragments then concentrating the supernatant; and eluting proteins from the concentrate. The separated fimbrial antigen enriched special extract of surface proteins from cultured Streptococcus mutans(52-80KD) is used as an antigen in immunizing mammal to manufacture an antibody for the protection of dental caries.
