PURPOSE: A device for operating a virtual museum using the Internet and a control method thereof are provided to make a user contact the history and culture through the virtual museum on the Internet without visiting the real museums located in many places by constructing a virtual museum and outputting detail information of displayed materials. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a terminal(1) as a device connecting a plurality of users to a server(2) through the Internet and a server providing the virtual museum to the user when the terminal connecting to the server. The server comprises a communication part(3), a first memory(6), a second memory(7), a third memory(8), a controller(4) and a coordinate deciding part(5). The communication part communicates the data with the terminal through the Internet and various kinds of moving image and general text data comprising the virtual museum is transceived through the communication part. The respective display space has a specific area and the area of the display space is stored in the coordinate deciding part as the coordinates.
