PURPOSE: Provided are novel 2-0-(9z,12z-octadecadienyl)-3-0-(-galactopyranosyl-('-6')-0--D-galactopyranosyl)glycerol having excellent effects on osteoporosis, arthritis, and extruded disc, and a pharmaceutical preparation containing it as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: 2-0-(9z,12z-octadecadienyl)-3-0-(-galactopyranosyl-('-6')-0--D-galactopyranosyl)glycerol is represented by the following structural formula. The pharmaceutical preparation contains it or its acetate and one of allendrate, tamoxifen, vitamin B3, parathyroid hormone, sulfasalazine, thioredoxin reductase, alendronate, raloxifene, calcitonin, estradiol, genistein, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, alendronate, estrogen receptor modulator, biphosphonates and harpagide, as active ingredients, and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients, diluents, adjuvants, preservatives, dissolution adjuvants, etc.
