PURPOSE: An automatic deposit/withdrawal notification system using a PSTN and a method for controlling the same are provided to automatically report deposit/withdrawal information through a telephone number registered by an account user. CONSTITUTION: A financial settlement server(40) processes the deposit/withdrawal information of a user's account. An ARS(Audio Response System)(90) is to register the account user's telephone number. A data storage unit(50) stores the data for the registered telephone number, relating to the user's account. An automatic notification unit(80) is composed of a program memory part(31) and a data memory part(32) with a control part(30) in the center. If a deposit or a withdrawal is generated from the user's account, the automatic notification unit(80) reads the data for the user's telephone number related to his/her account from the data storage unit(50), makes a telephone call to him/her, and provides information for deposit/withdrawal details to him/her in voice. The control part(30) comprises a plurality of input/output ports and control terminals, a serial communication terminal, a power input terminal, and so on. The program memory part(31) stores an operation system and data for the commanding and initialization of a program. The data memory part(32) temporarily stores various data generated during execution.
