Use of coumarin derivatives as anti-alzheimer's disease drugs and pharmaceutical preparations containing them as active ingredients

PURPOSE: A use of coumarin derivative as an anti-amnestic agent and a pharmaceutical preparation containing the same compound as an active ingredient are provided, therefore the subject compound can be useful for prevention and treatment of Alzheimer disease. CONSTITUTION: The coumarin derivative having anti-amnestic activity is represented by formula (I) or (II) as described in the description, in which R is hydrogen, -OH or OGlc; R1 is hydrogen; R2 is hydrogen, hydroxyl or OR4 wherein R4 is lower alkyl; and R3 is hydroxyl. The pharmaceutical preparation comprises the coumarin derivative selected from the compounds represented by formulas I and II as an effective component, and pharmaceutically or sitologically acceptable diluents.
