PURPOSE: A method for managing the state of a signaling point in a No.7 signaling network is provided to manage information for each signaling point using a default routing function through a default table. CONSTITUTION: If a message transmission request to a remote terminal is received from a user part, a system judges whether the user part uses a default routing function(S1). In this case, the received message has a routing label composed of a DPC(Destination Point Code), an OPC(Origination Point Code) and an SLS(Signaling Link Selection). The system judges whether the DPC is registered as a defined remote signaling point(S2). In case that the DPC is registered as the defined remote signaling point, the system transmits the message, based on the routing information of the remote signaling point(S3). If the DPC is not registered as the defined remote signaling point, the system whether a default route is defined(S4). If the default route is defined, the system judges whether a default signal is available(S6). In case that the default signal is available, the system judges whether the remote signaling point exists in a default table(S7). If the remote signaling point doesn't exist in the default table, the system registers the remote signaling point in the default table, stores it as an available state, and transmits the message according to the routing information of a default signaling point(S8). Meanwhile, if the remote signaling point exists in the default table, the system judges whether the remote signaling point is in an available state(S9). If the remote signaling point is not in the available state, the system discards the message and reports it to the user part(S10). If the remote signaling point is in the available state, the system transmits the message using the routing information of the default signaling point(S11).
