PURPOSE: A method for monitoring welding quality in flash butt welding process is provided to improve monitoring and judgement functions of welding quality and easily extract defective conditions of the welding quality by judging whether error tolerance ranges per each welding steps are exceeded or not. CONSTITUTION: The method for monitoring welding quality in flash butt welding process comprises the steps of setting standard values of welding heat input and total heat input per unit hour, error tolerance range of welding heat input calculation values and total heat input calculation values per unit hour, and excess frequency standard ratio of the error tolerance range; calculating the welding heat input and total heat input per unit hour by detecting welding voltage and welding current per unit hour; calculating comparison frequency total value by accumulating the comparison frequency after comparing a difference between the calculated welding heat input per unit hour and the standard value of the welding heat input per unit hour with the error tolerance range; and calculating a ratio of the excess frequency for the total value of the comparison frequency by accumulating the frequencies in case that the difference is greater than the error tolerance range, and displaying abnormal alarm of the welding heat input per unit hour in case that the excess frequency ratio exceeds the standard ratio of the excess frequency of the error tolerance range.
