A turning apparatus of thrust bearing assembly using in a reactor coolant pump

PURPOSE: A thrust bearing assembly loading and rotating apparatus is provided to allow maintenance for upper and lower oil seals, journal pad, thrust pad, sleeve and rotor to be performed while the heavy thrust bearing assembly which is supported stably is in rotation. CONSTITUTION: A thrust bearing assembly loading and rotating apparatus comprises an upper plate(10) here a thrust bearing assembly is loaded; a support unit arranged at both sides of the upper plate, and which supports the thrust bearing assembly and the upper plate; and a rotating unit for rotating the upper plate being supported by the support unit. The support unit includes a square frame(20) for transmitting load of the thrust bearing assembly to the ground; first and second triangle frames(21,22) arranged to oppose each other at both ends of the square frame, and which distribute load of the thrust bearing assembly and transmit the distributed load to the lower frame; and first and second connection units(23,24) arranged at the tops of first and second triangle frames, respectively, and which interconnect the upper plate and first and second triangle frames to be rotatable. The rotating unit includes a motor mounted to the square frame of the support unit; a gear decelerator coupled to a driving shaft of the motor; and a sprocket unit interposed between the decelerating driving shaft of the gear decelerator and a second rotating shaft(28b) of the second connection unit.
