/ Apparatuses and Methods for Digital Stereo Video Processing using Decimation/Interpolation Filtering

PURPOSE: A device for processing a digital stereo image is provided to perform a decimation filtering and an interpolation filtering for a digital stereo image, to reduce information lost, and to transmit/restore a stereo image in an existing digital video processing device, thereby obtaining a high-quality stereo image. CONSTITUTION: A decimation filter(210) decimation-filters left/right images pictured from video cameras(200, 201). A multiplexer(220) multiplexes the decimation-filtered images. A recorder/transmitter(230) records or transmits the multiplexed image signals. An image separator(240) reproduces, receives, and decodes data recorded or transmitted from the recorder/transmitter, and separates the left image from the right image. An interpolation filter(250) interpolation-filters the separated images to restore to original size. An image display(260) displays the restored images.
