PURPOSE: A code pair generating and code assigning method according an LS code selection is provided to improve a PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) by proposing a code pair that the minimum phase transition between codes assigned to a component 'I' and a component 'Q' is 180 degree in case of a spread method in which different LS(Large Synchronization) codes are assigned to the components 'I' and 'Q', and increase a length of an IFW(Interference Free Window) by improving an allocation method of the LS cod in an orthogonal code set. CONSTITUTION: A representative orthogonal code set is selected(60). It is determined whether different LS codes are assigned to the components 'I' and 'Q' for the selected orthogonal code set, and if different LS codes are assigned(QPSK method) and PAPR minimizing code pair is assigned, an LS code sequential assigning method(1) is adopted(61,62,63). If different codes at not assigned to the components 'I' and 'Q', code sets are classified on the basis of IFW, and an LS code sequential assignment method(3) is adopted by which a length of the IFW is increased if less than N/2 number of total 'N' number of codes is used(66,67,68). If the PAPR minimizing code pair is not assigned(62), a length of the IFW is increased if less than N/2 number of total 'N' number of codes is used and an LS code sequential assigning method(2) is adopted(64,65).
