PURPOSE: An in-line system for testing crack of crank shaft and method of the same are provided to extract cracked part of the crank shaft from image data of the crank shaft to report the cracked part. CONSTITUTION: A system includes a deliverer(3) rotating a crank shaft(1), which fluorescent magnetic particle liquid is applied to, magnetized by applying 6000A of current and delivered and fixed in a darkroom(5) according to control signal of a programmable logic(PLC) controller(7); an ultraviolet lamp(9), installed on one side of the darkroom to irradiate ultraviolet light with wavelength of 365nm on the magnetized crank shaft; a plurality of charge-coupled device(CCD) cameras installed on the other side of the darkroom to generate image data of the crank shaft having fluorescent magnetic particles emitting light due to the ultraviolet light; and an image processing controller(13) receiving image data from the CCD cameras, analyzing the data to extract cracks, displaying positions of the cracks and transmitting control signal to the PLC controller for controlling operation of the ultraviolet lamp and rotation of the deliverer.
