PURPOSE: A method for preparing a barium magnesium aluminate-based blue and green fluorescent substance powder by spray pyrolysis using a nonorganic polymer solution and a barium magnesium aluminate-based blue and green fluorescent substance prepared by the method are provided, to obtain completely spherical fluorescent powder by improving the heat stability. CONSTITUTION: The barium magnesium aluminate-based blue and green fluorescent substance is represented by Ba(a-b)MgcAldOx : Mnb, wherein 0.5a2, 0.01b1.0, 0=c4, 5d20, and x=a+c+3d/2. The method comprises the steps of adding liquid ammonia to at least one aluminum salt selected from aluminum nitrate, aluminum acetate, aluminum chloride and aluminum sulfate having good solubility to obtain aluminum hydrate precipitate, and adding 0.01-2.9 mol of nitric acid to the precipitate based on 1 mol of aluminum to prepare a polymer solution containing aluminum; dissolving the polymer solution, at least one selected from barium nitrate, barium acetate, barium chloride and barium hydrate, at least one selected from magnesium nitrate, magnesium acetate, magnesium chloride and magnesium hydrate, and a salt selected from oxides, nitrates, acetates, chlorides and sulfates of europium or manganese into distilled water or alcohol in 0.01-1.0 molar ratio based on 1 mol of barium, to prepare a precursor solution; injecting the precursor solution into a spray device to generate a liquid drop with a diameter of 0.1-100 micrometers; and injecting the liquid drop into a reactor of 200-1,500 deg.C to prepare spherical fluorescent substance powder.
