PURPOSE: A circuit for converting an AC(Alternating Current) voltage into an AC or DC(Direct Current) voltage by using a divided voltage of multiple capacitors is provided to generate an output voltage by extracting a voltage divided by the capacitors. CONSTITUTION: Two capacitors(C1,C6) connected in serial are coupled to input terminals(a1,c1). Each of capacitors(C2,C3,C4,C5) is connected in parallel to two ends of a capacitor(C6) through a switching device(S1). Two ends of the capacitors(C1,C6) are connected in parallel to resistors(R1,R2). Output terminals(a1,b1) are connected to the two ends of the capacitor(C6). A synthetic capacitance on the output terminals(a1,b1) is dependent on a state of which one of the capacitors(C2,C3,C4,C5) is connected to the switching device(S1). A voltage on the output terminals(a1,b1) is determined by a divided voltage ratio of the synthetic capacitance and a capacitance of the capacitor(C1).
