Process and apparatus for treating sewage or waste water without emitting excess sludge

PURPOSE: A sewage/wastewater treating process for sludge reduction using membrane bioreactor process and apparatus therefor are provided, which are characterized in that a membrane bioreactor is installed instead of a sedimentation tank, and sludge separated by membrane is recycled into a bioreactor. So high microorganism concentration of bioreactor is maintained. Also excess sludge is oxidized by ozone, supersonic waves, or ultraviolet rays, then re-injected into the bioreactor. Therefore sludge is non-discharged. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises the parts of a bioreactor(1) for treating sewage/wastewater using anaerobic and aerobic microorganism; a membrane bioreactor(2) for separating into sludge and treated water using membrane; an excess sludge treatment tank(3) for oxidizing sludge produced from the membrane bioreactor(2) using ozone, supersonic waves, or ultraviolet rays. Oxidized sludge in the excess sludge treatment tank(3) is re-injected into the bioreactor(1).
