PURPOSE: A gain-fixed erbium-doped fiber amplifier for long wavelength band is provided to perform a gain fixing function by enhancing efficiency of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier without a pumping laser diode and a pumping isolator. CONSTITUTION: A gain-fixed erbium-doped fiber amplifier is formed with the first and the second isolators(301,308), a laser diode(302), a coupler(303), an optical fiber Bragg diffraction grating(304), the first and the second wavelength division multiplexers(305,307), and an erbium-doped fiber(306). An erbium-doped fiber(306) is located at a center of a gain-fixed erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The first and the second wavelength division multiplexers(305,307) are installed at both sides of the erbium-doped fiber(306). A signal light is inputted from the first isolator(301). A pumping light is generated from the laser diode(302). The pumping light is divided into two directions by the coupler(303). The divided light is inputted into the first and the second wavelength division multiplexers(305,307), respectively.
