PURPOSE: A method for removing nitrate and nitrite of wastewater using metal composition containing iron scrap and aluminium scrap is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises (a) cleaning iron and aluminium scrap using hydrochloric acid in a reactor; (b) cleaning above iron and aluminium scrap using water; (c) packing iron and aluminium scrap into a reactor; (d) denitrification of wastewater through the reactor packed with iron and aluminium scrap; and (e) adjusting pH of treated water to 6-8. By the method nitrate and nitrite of wastewater is denitrified.
