PURPOSE: Provided is a method for fabricating activated carbon fibers impregnated with potassium iodide capable of removing methyl mercaptan from sulfuric compounds. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) drying activated carbon fiber at a temperature of 105C for more than 24 hours, (b) dissolving potassium iodide into a distilled water to acquire potassium iodide solution, (c) impregnating the potassium iodide into the dried activated carbon fiber using the potassium iodide solution to the extent of activated carbon fiber to potassium iodide weight ratio of 100:6 to 100:20 at a temperature of 25 to 100C for 1 hour, and (d) drying the potassium iodide impregnated activated carbon fiber acquired in the step (c) for more than 24 hours.
