PURPOSE: A method for extracting arc position related information is provided to automatically extract arc position related information including phase information at vectorization using derived vector data. CONSTITUTION: In an arc position relation extracting method being applied to a position related information extracting device, a CPU endows arcs which form a polygon with a predetermined number(11), inquires an arc(12), and selects a progressing direction in accordance with the arc direction(13,14,15). The CPU selects an arc in accordance with the selected progressing direction(16,17), sets a polygon number in accordance with the progressing direction and the selected arc direction(18), and decides the outer wall polygon. The CPU selects a predetermined arc, selects a progressing direction in accordance with a polygon number of the selected arc, selects the next arc regardless of the progressing direction, decides a polygon number in accordance with the progressing direction and the selected arc direction, and decides an internal polygon(25-29). The decided arc information including phase information is transmitted to a database system for constructing, verifying, and searching a database.
